Your Journey Begins at Umeya
Umeya is a shared space and launchpad for those who dream of one day opening their own shop.
Opening a physical store from scratch comes with significant costs and risks, creating a high barrier for anyone. At Umeya, you can take that first step with less risk by utilizing our shared space.
Here, you can meet customers, build a loyal following, and gain valuable experience. We support dreamers who aim to eventually open their own shop in Kurogi.
Umeya is the place where challengers connect with the community.
The main building was constructed in 1902, and it operated as a traditional Japanese restaurant (Ryotei) called 'Aburaya'.
Shinzaburo Matsunobu purchased the townhouse, which had been a restaurant. He named it 'Umeya' and began a pharmacy business, dealing in medicines and explosives such as dynamite.
In 1935, Umeya was expanded, and a detached building (Hanare) was constructed.
Based in Kurogi, Yame City, Fukuoka, Japan, I work as "Tsunagi Coffee", a home-roasted coffee shop without a fixed location shop. I also work as a freelance photographer from time to time. I buy coffee that is mainly pesticide-free and chemical fertiliser-free, and I do all the roasting process by hand.
From childhood to the present, I have been through many twists and turns, including bullying, not attending school, depression and the discovery of a developmental disorder in adulthood. I would be happy if I could share the learning and realisation I gained from these experiences with everyone through coffee and photography.

◆ Our Approach to Bodywork
We offer a gentle, non-cracking (soft-touch) treatment. Our goal is to provide a "mellow time of healing" where the stress stored inside your body simply melts away.
◆ The Meaning Behind Our Logo
Plants sprout in different ways—some as "dicots" with two spreading leaves, others as "monocots" growing straight and tall. Just like plants, every person is unique.
The individuality that expands by holding hands with those around them.
The individuality that charges straight ahead, true to oneself.
We want both types of "buds" to flourish. That is the wish we’ve infused into our logo.
◆ Our Message
It brings us joy to share meaningful insights through bodywork and dialogue. We strive to be a place where you can leave feeling just a little lighter in both body and mind—ready to take on the world at a "next level" version of yourself.
